Terms of Use and Disclosure
Last updated: May 12, 2026
By downloading, accessing, or using Choose My Electric, including our website and mobile applications (collectively, the "App"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The App is an informational comparison tool. We do our best to surface supplier rates and plan data from across the market using available utility, supplier, public-source, and partner data, but some suppliers, plans, prices, fees, terms, or availability details may be missing, delayed, or unavailable.
1. Independent Platform
Choose My Electric is an independent platform and is not owned, operated, or endorsed by any utility, supplier, or government agency.
2. Affiliate and Compensation Disclosure
Choose My Electric may receive compensation, referral fees, or other financial incentives from certain suppliers or partners when users click links, request information, or enroll through the App.
- Compensation does not move offers higher in the list.
- Recommended offers may use plan eligibility, filters, sort order, estimated savings, price and term data, monthly service fees, seasonal demand patterns, and other comparison logic.
- We try to include as many available suppliers and offers as we reasonably can, but not every supplier, plan, rate, or promotion in your area will always appear in the App.
3. No Guarantee of Rates, Availability, or Savings
Rates, fees, supplier availability, and estimated savings shown in the App are based on available third-party, public, utility, and supplier data, plus our own comparison logic and usage assumptions.
Savings estimates are informational only. They are based on an algorithm that uses estimated or typical usage patterns, seasonal demand assumptions, your inputs, and available market data, so your actual savings may be higher, lower, or zero.
- Some suppliers, plans, rates, fees, or terms may be unavailable, delayed, incomplete, or not shown.
- Rates, fees, and availability may change at any time without notice.
- Displayed pricing and savings are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, current, or achievable.
4. Supplier Responsibility
Choose My Electric does not provide electric service and is not a party to any agreement between you and a supplier.
- You are solely responsible for selecting and enrolling with a supplier.
- You are responsible for reading the supplier's actual terms, disclosures, enrollment documents, fees, and cancellation rules before enrolling.
- All contracts, billing, service quality, and disputes are handled directly between you and the supplier.
5. Alerts, Timing, and Switching Windows
Rate expiration alerts, contract-end estimates, and related reminders are based on available data and may not match the exact supplier, utility, or billing timeline.
- Some supplier switches can take one to two billing cycles, so alerts and expected effective dates may be earlier or later than the actual change.
- Switch timing, renewal timing, and effective dates should always be confirmed with the supplier and utility.
6. App Errors and Technical Issues
The App may contain bugs, errors, delays, or inaccuracies, and features may not function as intended at all times. Data processing, including bill scanning and automated comparisons, may produce incomplete or incorrect results.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Choose My Electric and its owners, developers, and affiliates are not liable for increased energy costs, inaccurate comparisons, missed renewals, lost savings, contract disputes, service interruptions, or reliance on App information.
8. Third-Party Links
The App may link to third-party sites, including supplier enrollment pages. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, security, or accuracy.
9. Changes to Terms
These terms may be updated at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Contact
